A BER Assessor is a person certified to carry out BER Assessments . BER assessments are the measure of how well your structure performs from a energy performance perspective.
Since the implementation of the Energy performance of Buildings Directive all property must have a certificate stating its Energy Performance or its Building Energy Rating,
Much like the ratings for white goods a BER lets you know the Energy Rating of your product so you can determine its long term running costs.
In an effort to improve the energy performance of buildings in Ireland the government has established a grant scheme to help householders pay for improvements called the Home Energy Saving Scheme. A €200 grant is available for BER assessments before and after work has been completed. |
